I’m Made of Mama’s Milk Here’s a long-overdue book filled with photos of a breastfeeding mother and her toddler. I’m Made of Mama’s Milk is the perfect gift for a First Birthday. Made of high-quality heavy cardboard, this book assures the breastfeeding little one that Mama’s milk is simply, the best whenever and wherever – morning through night, on the left or right…. and “it makes darling children.” Thirteen thick pages give 24 sides. It is perfectly sized for small hands. Each page has a photo and just enough words for little ones to memorize after a few readings. The language is appropriate for very small children, but not patronizing. The book is truly, as the author notes on the back cover, “A nursling’s celebration of the joys of breastfeeding.” Shortcomings? My only complaint is that the book does not also come in other ethnicities. It’s a very Caucasian book, but covers subject matter that spans the globe. Perhaps in the future, the author will consider adding families from God’s rainbow of children. Mary Olsen has created a phenomenal work for breastfeeding families. Complete Mother readers can be sure their precious dollars are well spent when they add this delightful book to their bookshelf. $8.95.
