VERSES FOR  MOM’S HEART

by Steven L. Layne

Illustrations by Gail Greaves Klinger

Rating:

This collection of poems, written from a child’s perspective, touches on many facets of everyday life and the ideas that children think about.   My favorite is “Mommy’s Work,” a recitation of the many chores a mom performs every day and acknowledges that her work is never done.  No kidding!

The poems are short, written in simple language, and are appropriate for school age children to read to Mom.  The illustrations are lovely and include many races and a child in a wheelchair.

The book would make a nice gift for a Mother who appreciates poems.
