Stress causes heartburn: how to handle itStress could be a major factor for heartburn. In some studies, people with high stress levels do develop heartburn more often than others. Alternatively, people with lower stress levels have fewer incidents of heartburn. Some natural herbs have a calming effect on people and, thus, they may also reduce heartburn. When taken in standardized doses, it can be an effective control of depression, which can be a factor in stress. More studies need to be done to prove the true effectiveness though. Passionflower is yet another herb to reduce stress. This is quite an effective form of treatment for tension and fatigue. Being a slight narcotic as well, passionflower works well at treating sleeplessness. Catnip works well with chamomile, enhancing the sedative effect. This will also help relieve excess gas inside your body, reducing stress and heartburn symptoms in your body even more. Many people meditate to relieve stress and reduce heartburn attacks. Not only will it help reduce stress, but it will also clear your mind, and overcome negative influences. It does not take hours like most people think either. Meditation very simply can take ten or fifteen minutes if you need a short reprieve from the world around you. Heartburn is a serious problem in today's society.
