Indigestion: Nutritional Remedies

Getting rid of GERD and acid reflux is not quick or easy, but with some discipline it can usually be effectively done over a period of several months. The first step is to eliminate it with a safe, gentle, effective and natural

anti-fungal and anti-parasitic treatment. Many nutritionists suggest the use of oil of oregano at physician's strength and colloidal silver at 500ppm. Colloidal silver is a catalyst that disables enzymes contributing to severe indigestion, acid reflux or GERD, and in time will cure the disease. So far, there have not been any recorded cases of adverse effects from colloidal silver when it is properly prepared. There also has been no recorded case of drug interactions with any other medication. Oil of oregano also works well in treating acid reflux or GERD.

The presence of colloidal silver near a virus, fungus or bacterium disables its oxygen metabolism enzyme (the equivalent of its lung). Within a few minutes, it suffocates and dies, and is cleared out of the body by the immune, lymphatic and elimination systems. Unlike pharmaceutical antibiotics, which destroy beneficial enzymes, colloidal silver leaves these tissue-cell enzymes intact, as they are radically different from the enzymes of primitive single-celled organisms like bacteria, viruses and fungi. Thus, colloidal silver is absolutely safe for humans, reptiles, plants and all multi-celled organisms. Most nutritionists teach that it is a virus, fungus or bacterium that contributes to indigestion, acid reflux and GERD. It is important to rid the body of these disease-causing agents.

Aloe vera starting at 2000 mg per day and working up to more as tolerated is also suggested. It is used to help heal the esophageal erosions. The heartburn associated with GERD and acid reflux will gradually diminish as the yeast is killed off. Aloe vera is also used to help with the burning. Scientific research has shown a very powerful plant chemical found in aloe vera, which is in a special category of super antioxidants that bind free radicals on the outside of cells and unlike other antioxidants they also work inside cells. Aloe vera has been demonstrated to reduce the overall microbial load within the body, thereby revitalizing the body in its fight against microbes.

Calcium and magnesium are essential minerals for digestive tract healing to occur. They are also natural antacids that sooth the heartburn associated with indigestion, acid reflux and GERD. The suggested adult dose for calcium is at least 500 mg twice daily and at least 400 mg of magnesium daily. The great thing about calcium and magnesium is the fact that these supplements will not only help you in getting rid of the discomfort caused by acid reflux and GERD, but will help with other areas of bodily health also like in the maintenance of strong bones.
